Empowering ME through Blogging

Assalamu’alaikum warrahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Hi friends! Today I wanna share my opinion about a cool event called Empowering Women Through Blogging from HijabScarf & Fimela.com (you can click the link to read more stories about the event).

By coming to this event, I could know more about the power of blogging, what should I write on my blogs, how should I write the posts to attract visitors, and so many useful tips for blogger like me. :D

These are the most important quotes that we all get from the event:

“Find your expertise. If you don’t have one, build your own expertise. Be positive and passionate with everything you write and success will follow. Twitter, FB status or even strangers can be your inspirations. Blogging is a journal of reaction, not a chronological diary. Tell us what your thought and what you feel, not the detail of your schedule.” -Mrs. Ollie-

“It’s important to avoid negativity. It’s contagious. When we get negative comments, don’t let them stop you from writing. We cannot make everybody’s happy.” -Mrs. Ninit-

Overall Hijabscarf and fimela.com have done a very great event! They treat us well, and serve delicious foods. Yum!

Today Liza and I went to Mall Kelapa Gading 3 to pick up our Sushi Tei invitation (I’ll explain about it later). I was wearing a very comfy and casual outfit. And still with Dian Pelangi’s hijab style. :D Let’s take a look.

Fun Break Fasting Dinner with Pretty Hijabers

Pfiuuuh, finally I could write about the break fasting event that held by HijabScarf on monday, 23rd August 2010 at Foood Kulture, Urban Kitchen, Plaza Indonesia. It was so much fun, and it could be as a lovely shock therapy for me because all of the participants was very well dressed! Bravo! I dunno that there are so many stylish hijabers out there.. well, if I’m comparing with my university folks who are wearing conventional hijabs (you know, long 2 layer hijab, very loose abaya, A-line long skirt, etc), of course..

I went to that event with one of my best friend, Liza Ayu. When I first saw her at that day, I can’t stop giggling.. She never wore anything like that! She was wearing stylish hijab!! and also a pair of midi heels.. hahahahahaha, what a day! :D

This is her!

My best friend, Liza, and I, Ola

Before we went to the event, we still got a chance to take few pictures in the toyland.. I always love to see toyland in a mall, because it gives a different ambience to the area.. So cute! ;-)

Wait for me!

It Was A Great Day!

Hollaaaaa,
today is a great day for me.. Because I could spend my full day with my fiance..
We go to Plaza Indonesia to see Indonesia Islamic Fashion Fair (IIFF) 2010. Unfortunately, there’s no fashion show today, but we could see many muslim designer’s booth that placed in several area of Plaza Indonesia. I just took very few photos of the clothes, because we’re busy watching the perform of Dik Doank and kids from Kandank Jurank Doank Community. :D They are very great! I’ve recorded some of their performances. I’ll upload it later on my YouTube channel as soon as I can.. ;-)

Another exciting thing is that I could be able to wear a different style of hijab today.. :D It was really weird, because before I met my fiance, I was taking a bus to take me to our meeting point, and the people was staring at me.. Especially at my hijab! (FYI, I’m not fasting today during the period, so my fiance ask me to meet me in the middle area between our houses. i live in Bekasi, and he lives in Kebon Jeruk. So sometimes it’s okay for me to meet him in the middle area). Anyway, I know it’s unusual, but I don’t have any lack of confidence when I wear it.. :D Yeah that’s me, I was born with a huge self confidence.. Lucky me..

By the way, I wanna show you my today’s edited photos using Picnik. I’ve been using this online photo editor for a year. It’s very handy, and easy may I say. I still use Adobe Photoshop sometimes, if I’m in a very good mood of creating something (e.g. my 1st scrapbook photo ). I could possibly say that I’m quite pro with picnik stuffs.. :D

No Matter If It’s Black or White

Assalamu’alaikum!

Okay, this is my first daily style review. I will talk about my outfit that I wear in the opening post.. Yup, no other than the B/W outfit. ;)

Since “affordable” is always be my style’s middle name, so, please don’t ask for brands.. :D I love branded things for stuffs like shoes, and bags. But for clothes, there’s totally no boundaries for me. I can hop in Poncol-Senen to find some cool 2nd clothes n skirts, or jump to ITCs, or have a business-time on Tanah Abang (yep, business time for my online boutique  ), or even buy some branded clothes “IF” I had lots of money to spend.. hahahaha.. Because I believe that a true stylist people can shop everywhere in every circumstances.. No matter how is the shop/market’s condition..

True stylist people will always find great stuffs on their own..

So, don’t be glad if you have all the branded things in the world, if you can’t make people around you amazed to see your today’s style.. (hmmppffh..please translate this “amazed” word in a positive way.. Not a weird “amazed” word.. hehehe..), AND if you can’t mix n match those items properly..

And here they are..

Black Veil ~ French Cotton for Rp 8.000 (wholesaler price); Yellow Brooch ~ Stole it from my old ITC dress.. :D
Black High-Waisted Pants ~ Tanah Abang Rp 40.000 (wholesaler price)
V-Neck White Cardigan~ Senen 2nd Market Rp 12.500;  Black Tanktop ~ ITC Rp 20.000
